Ok…..just one. About two weeks ago I was in the shower shaving and noticed this random bump that literally popped up overnight. My paranoid self, having friends/family with cancer all around me, freaked out! At first I couldn’t figure out what kind of Dr, you are supposed to go see for something like this, but after a few days it was concluded that because of its location, I would go see a Podiatrist/ Orthopedic specialist. Well, after a two week wait I finally got in, and it was concluded I have a Ganglion Cyst.
I’m only,34, but I can already tell this whole getting older business is going to be a bummer. The options: I can either hit it hard with something to make it pop ( this is the old school way, not recommended , and the reason these cysts have been called “Bible Cysts” in the past), or I can go in and have it numbed and the Dr. can use a needle to drain the fluid and then inject a steroid to prevent it from swelling again…..either way, what bliss!
Unfortunately, that wasn’t the only issue for me either….I have had these terminal warts on my feet (literally there since I was pregnant with Scott……he’s 5). The remedy for that, this time around, will be to put spider/beetle venom on it that will make it blister, so the Dr. can cut it out. Another unfortunate fact….it’s on my other foot, so this will be fun for sure!
He wanted to take care of them then and there, but I pointed out we had some fun things planned like going to a water park and waverunning. His concern was that if he drained my fluid, I would need some compression for a few days after and that it could open my joint up for infection…..so, we will be dealing with this some time in September, after I’m done playing for the Summer!
