Jared’s baseball team got together for an end of season picnic at Wine’s Park. He had such a terrific coach this year. I was so happy he had a positive experience. This coach, time after time would spend one on one time with my son, helping him improve. He was always patient and constructive and never once cut Jared down. For that I am grateful. I’ve seen, as these boys get older how much more intense sports are becoming and just how nasty some of these coaches can be. We had a problem this year with one of Jared’s teammates’ Dad really coming down on his boy and pretty much bad
mouthing his kid from the stand. It’s so sad. It got so bad that at one point, he had a confrontation with our coach, where basically he was told to can it. And someone needed to say it…..
Well, we got together for a BBQ and the coach handed out some cute Owlz shot cups filled with candy and I guess you can take them to the stadium in Orem and get them filled with Slushies for $2. Jared’s baseball team at the end of the month, has been invited to go out onto the field at an Orem Owlz baseball game before it starts to have their names read before the national anthem is played. He’s so excited!
