Every year we make the trek to downtown Salt Lake to visit the LDS Temple Square, where our church decorates the grounds of the Salt Lake Temple for Christmas. It’s a fun tradition – one the kids look forward to every year. We’ve done it in the freezing wet weather, covered in snow and we’ve been lucky a few times to get up there on nights when the weather wasn’t so bad at all! Fortunate
ly, this was one of those years! I told Michael we’d better get up there while the weather is still in the 40’s so the baby doesn’t freeze! We had a good time walking around looking at the grounds. I really loved the scene of the manger sitting on the sitting pool of water just in front of the temple, with the little bubble lights. I tried to get a good picture of it, but there were just too many visitors, so I’m afraid it doesn’t do it any justice. At the end we w
ent over to a large narrated manger scene and then into the Visitor’s Center with the large statue of Christ. That’s the part the kids kept asking to see. I love Christmas.
