Different

I’ve been wanting to paint my front door for years now.  If I were being totally honest,  I would much prefer to buy a beautiful wood door, but since that’s not an option……I settled for a coat of paint.  I’ve been wanting to paint my door for years now and it finally happened! A neighbor of mine painted a bright blue which I LOVE, but because she got to it first, I thought I’d go with the color I’d originally thought of; green.  After I got going I decided it would look best antiqued, so I went over it with a gel varnish and whoala!  It looks beautiful…..if I may say so myself.    I think people either really hate it or really love it and I love it.  And honestly, if they hate it…they can keep it to themselves; I don’t care :)  I think this summer I’m going to ask Michael to build me some shudders for the front window that I can match to the door.  And maybe…….I can eventually talk him into framing our pillars with wood that we can varnish and paint, rather than the cheapy metal columns that came with the house.
