“Mom, stay in your room and don’t come out!” Another Valentine’s Day is here! It’s how they always begin…….I’m that spoiled. It’s the cries from my kids, telling me to hide in my room while they deck out the Family Room with their surprise for me. Michael’s that sweet. This year, as I came out, I found TONS of hearts strewn throughout the house with lots nice messages on each of them. Most from Michael, some from the boys. They were all so sweet. I couldn’t stop smiling all day as I found them hidden in various locations…..pantry, dishwasher, clothes drawers, my car……. Yes, I know I’m spoiled.
Our day started as usual….boys were off to school. Scott had his preschool Valentine’s party the Friday before, so his excitement was coming to a close. Jared & Gavin went armed with their Valentines; Sports ones with tattoos. Gavin had a class party that I got to plan (room mom) and he seemed to have a good time! It was the standard; 5 stations including 2 games and 2 crafts and of course…..a cookie decorating station. Jared had a card exchange and I think that was it. Both came home happy loaded up with lots of candy! I had a whole container of leftover frosting left and one sugar cookie I saved for Scoots. I left him to his decorating project at home, and in a few minutes he says, “Mom, I think I’m getting a tummy ache.” I looked and the ENTIRE container of frosting, was gone! He makes me laugh! He didn’t say that because he was feeling sick, he said that because I’d warned him that if he ate too much frosting, he’d get an upset stomach, so naturally, he was waiting for it!
We finished our Valentine’s with a chocolate fountain for dipping anything we could find that sounded good in chocolate, and ordering a pizza! We also played a couple games with our little loves. It was a good night!
